How to increase oxygen in aquaculture

2022-08-23

In the process of aquaculture, more or less oxygen in the water body will affect the aquatic animals in the water body to a certain extent; what is the appropriate amount of dissolved oxygen in the water body? What can we do to maintain enough dissolved oxygen in the water?
The source of dissolved oxygen in water
1. Source of dissolved oxygen in water: When the dissolved oxygen in the water is not saturated, oxygen in the atmosphere permeates into the water.
2. Dissolved oxygen in water comes from the light table effect of plants in water.
3. Artificial mechanical oxygenation.
2. Dissolved oxygen value suitable for aquatic animals
In the process of aquaculture, the dissolved oxygen value in the water body should be kept at 5mg/L-8mg/L which is the most suitable.
When the dissolved oxygen in the water body is lower than 4mg/L; most of the prawns are concentrated on the floating head in the water.
When the dissolved oxygen in the water body is higher than 10mg/L; too much dissolved oxygen in the shrimp will cause bubble disease.
3. How to use an aerator to increase oxygen reasonably
1. Turn on the aerator at noon on a sunny day: The effect of the light platform at noon on a sunny day is relatively strong, and the light in the middle of the water body is relatively weak. The manufacturer of aerator accessories opens the aerator to make the dissolved oxygen in the pool evenly distributed up and down.
2. Turn on the aerator in the early morning of the second day on a cloudy day: when the atmosphere is cloudy, the atmospheric pressure is relatively strong, the dissolved oxygen pressure in the water body is high, and the dissolved oxygen pond in the water is low. Usually dissolved oxygen will be lower after 3pm; then it should be turned on. Foot aerator; it can be turned off when the sun is out.
3. Open aerators at night on rainy days: photosynthesis is relatively weak in rainy days; dissolved oxygen in the water body is relatively low, and shrimp are easy to float after 12:00; therefore, enough aerators should be opened to increase the dissolution of the water body
4. Turn on the aerator for two hours before and after feeding: Turn on the aerator at this time to effectively let the fish and shrimp eat; speed up the feeding speed of the fish and shrimp.
